Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. Your energetic approach will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care support.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression.
Schedule appointments using medical scheduling software and coordinate provider calendars effectively.
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verifications with accuracy.
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including collecting co-pays and updating demographic information.
Maintain and organize medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies.
Answer multi-line phone systems promptly with excellent phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately.
Support medical administrative functions including filing, faxing, scanning documents, and managing office supplies.
Utilize EMR systems such as eClinicalWorks to update patient information accurately.
Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and care plans.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA by safeguarding patient information at all times.
Qualifications
Prior experience working as a Medical Receptionist or in a medical office environment is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, and Medicare guidelines.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks is essential.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with office management software like Eclinical Works is a plus.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities.
Bilingual abilKnowledge of HIPAA compliance standards related to health information management is required.
